One of the best things about eloping in Portland is that you don’t have to drive three hours into the wilderness to find a beautiful place to say your vows. We’ve got towering trees, rose gardens, city views, historic bridges, and enough Pacific Northwest magic to make your Pinterest board nervous.

HOYT ARBORETUM
If someone asked me to describe Portland in one location, I’d probably send them to Hoyt Arboretum.
With over 12 miles of trails winding through forests from around the world, it feels like you’ve escaped into the woods without actually leaving the city.

- Towering trees and forest vibes year-round
- Multiple ceremony locations to choose from
- Gorgeous in every season
- Easy access from downtown Portland
- Feels adventurous without requiring a hike to Mount Everest Base Camp
Perfect for couples who want that “we ran away into the woods and got married” feeling.

Cathedral Park
If you’re looking for something uniquely Portland, then Cathedral Park is hard to beat.
Nestled beneath the iconic St. Johns Bridge, this spot combines dramatic architecture with river views and plenty of greenery.
Why couples love it:
- One of Portland’s most recognizable landmarks
- Incredible bridge architecture in photos
- Open grassy areas for ceremonies
- Beautiful light near sunset
- Easy for guests to access if you’re planning a small gathering
The photos here always feel a little romantic, a little dramatic, and very Portland.
Heads up though: the stairs in the park and the platform are closed for weddings and events due to construction on the bridge for the rest of 2026. The stairs and platform are set to reopen in 2027. To stay up to date on Cathedral Park and learn more about the park, check out their website here.
Peninsula Park Rose Garden
Want flowers without having to spend your entire wedding budget on flowers?
Peninsula Park might be your new best friend.
The historic rose garden bursts into color during late spring and summer, creating a gorgeous backdrop that looks straight out of a storybook.

Leach Botanical Garden feels like one of Portland’s best-kept secrets.
Tucked away in Southeast Portland, this lush garden offers winding paths, woodland views, and a peaceful atmosphere that’s perfect for an intimate ceremony.

- Beautiful footbridges and pathways
- Feels intimate even when you’re still in the city

MT. TABOR PARK
Not every couple wants deep forest vibes.
Some want trees and city views.
Mt. Tabor gives you both.
Built on an extinct volcanic cinder cone, this park offers beautiful overlooks and open spaces while still feeling connected to the city.

- Great option year-round

Want one of the best views in Portland?
Council Crest sits at the highest point in the city and offers sweeping views of downtown, surrounding mountains, and the West Hills.

- Beautiful for intimate vow exchanges
- Gorgeous in every season
On a clear day, the mountain views are absolutely ridiculous.

If your relationship has always looked more like hiking boots than ballroom dancing shoes, Forest Park might be your place.
One of the largest urban forests in the country, Forest Park offers endless trails and secluded spots that feel worlds away from city life. Heads up, Stone House is a 2 mile hike, but here's why couples love it:
