If the thought of booking a photo shoot makes you a little nervous, you’re not alone. Most people I photograph tell me the same thing before their session:
“I’m awkward in photos.”

And honestly? That’s completely normal.
You don’t have to have everything figured out before booking a photo shoot with me. My job as your photographer is to guide you through the entire process so your session feels relaxed, natural, and actually fun.

Before Your Photo Shoot: We Plan It Together
Every great photo shoot starts with a little planning.
You can bring full inspiration boards, Pinterest ideas, or just a general vibe, and I’ll help shape it into a session that actually feels like you.
After booking, you’ll receive a quick questionnaire so I can get to know you better and understand what you’re hoping for from your photos.
We’ll go over things like:
- Outfit ideas and styling
- Portrait locations around Portland
- The overall mood of the shoot
- Any inspiration you’ve saved
- The type of photos you want most
Planning ahead helps the entire experience feel easy and stress-free when shoot day arrives.
During Your Photo Shoot: You Just Show Up
Your only job on shoot day is to show up with good vibes (and maybe a small iced coffee).
You don’t need to worry about posing or “what to do with your hands.” I guide you through the entire session: from posing and movement to where to stand and how to relax in front of the camera.
Most sessions feel less like a formal photo shoot and more like walking around Portland together while I capture moments along the way.
We’ll laugh, move around, take breaks when needed, and sometimes even play music if it helps you loosen up.
No stiff poses.
No awkward energy.
Just a relaxed portrait experience designed to help you feel comfortable and confident.
After Your Photo Shoot: The Best Part
After your session, you’ll receive a link to your Proof Gallery.
From there, you can:
• Choose your favorite photos
• Leave notes or comments for me
• Select the images you’d like edited
Once your selections are made, I’ll carefully edit your photos in my warm, colorful Soft Rebel style.
Within 3–4 weeks, you’ll receive your final downloadable gallery, ready to share online, print, and keep for years to come.
My Goal for Every Portrait Session
Photo shoots shouldn’t feel intimidating.
My goal is to create a photography experience that feels calm, collaborative, and genuinely enjoyable.
Think of it less like a traditional photo shoot and more like hanging out for an hour or so - except you leave with beautiful photos that capture your personality, your style, and your story.
